Amy Jeanette-Wood has been working in the human service field since her time as an undergraduate student. She has worked with a variety of populations across the life span in a multitude of settings. This love of people led her to pursue a B.A. in Human Development and continued exploration in the healing arts. As part of her inner transformational work she found yoga, reiki, meditation, and other alternative pathways for personal growth. This led her to incorporate her passion for the arts, movement, and music into her graduate work in the Expressive Art Therapies.
Amy earned a M.A. in Expressive Art Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass. in 2002. She received her certification as a yoga instructor in 2008 from The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Nassau, Bahamas and in Nov. 2015 she completed her Kundalini Yoga teacher training (KRI Certified) at Sat Nam Yoga Spa in Hurleyville, NY with teachers Hari Kaur and Gitanjali Valant. She has most recently completed Chair Yoga Teacher Certification from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in 2021 and is a Shiva Rae certified Yoga Trance Dance Instructor. She has been a Karuna and Usui Reiki Master/Teacher since 2003 and been practicing transcendental meditation (TM) of over 20 years. She has completed training in acupressure, meridian therapy, rose alchemy and life coaching. She incorporates various self care techniques into her yoga classes and private sessions. She has vast experience teaching yoga, reiki, art, leading trance dance and facilitating healing workshops at studios and retreat centers all over the eastern United States. She has taught many of these classes and workshops accompanied by live musicians. She uses a creative and holistic approach to help guide others in reaching their goals and connecting to the spirit within.
Amy currently teaches yoga, dance, and the expressive arts at The Center for Enhancing Abilities in Cedar Knolls, NJ. She enjoys working privately with individuals in helping them live to their fullest potential. By using yoga, reiki, meditation, expressive arts, dance and life coaching in her work she is able to help others heal, express themselves, feel supported and grow.
